Coronavirus – Number of deaths in Hungary begins to stand out among EU statistics
The number of dead patients in the coronavirus epidemic in Hungary is getting higher day by day. Comparing it to the other European States, Hungarian statistics are now among the worst ones since the beginning of September.
444 reported that the UK, Austria and Italy have fewer death cases due to the epidemic than Hungary, but before autumn, these countries were in a more dangerous situation than Hungary. The state is getting closer to France, where the number of lost people has also increased rapidly. Only Spain, Romania and Croatia suffer from high numbers although these countries already had more infections during the summer and the beginning of autumn.Â
On Wednesday, another eight patients died in Hungary.
Viktor Orbán stated that in the following period, the state needs to pay more attention to the number of deaths rather than new infections as this time, the government chose a different strategy from spring. This time, Hungary would like to keep running, differently though, but not to close again. While people in other countries are worried about strict restrictions, with almost 1000 new cases a day, Hungary does not intend to introduce those at all.
In states with fewer new cases, restrictions are stricter than in Hungary. In Austria, for example, only ten people are allowed to take part in an outdoor event while in Hungary not more than 500 people.
